Dear friends,

Following the diagnosis of a significant tumor on her ovary in late September, on October 28, Clara underwent a complete hysterectomy to remove the tumor and prevent further metastasis. We thank God that the doctor believes the tumor is benign, and we look forward to confirmation.

Even so, Clara has a long road of recovery ahead of her – both physically and financially. Clara will be unable to work at her previous capacity for a handful of months, and the early cost estimate for this procedure exceeds $50,000 out-of-pocket.

Our families have known and loved "Miss Clara" for years. As we're sure is the case for many of you, the care she has provided has genuinely changed our lives! Her kindness, gentleness and joy have enriched our children, marriages and households. We couldn’t imagine life without her!

As she has walked with us for these last years, we aim to walk with her now. As you are able, please consider giving towards covering some of these medical expenses, which represent a significant hurdle for Clara. We hope these funds will ease Clara's financial burden for years to come.
