Help Lakeisha Burroughs Fight Cancer-Medical Bills

Hi, my name is Lakeisha and I am fundraising in effort to pay unforeseen medical bills and expenses during the last few months.

 

On July 2021 I begin experiencing severe pain in my neck and throat to the point I couldn’t swallow. At that time I thought I may have had an infection or so kind of inflammation that could have easily be treated with some antibiotics. After a series of CT scans, ultrasound with FNA biopsy and several doctors visits I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. At that time my world changed, I couldn’t believe that this was happening to me.  Despite the report I remained quiet and tried to fight on my own. It became an emotional toll because my sons were watching me crash.  So after several visits at the cancer center I was told that I needed to have surgery as soon as possible to remove the cancerous tumor.  The surgery was performed and deemed successful.  During the time of recovery I went to my oncologist office to follow up on my surgery and to plan a course of treatment only to be told that I would have to have a second major surgery. I was told I have a rare mediastinal tumor and was being immediately referred to a thoracic surgeon for surgery. The second surgery was completed on June 2 and as I continue my plan of treatment I ask for your continuous prayer in my fight against cancer. 

On June 20 I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Cancer in thymona and it is not related to the previous cancer diagnosis. I have to undergo some rounds of radiation treatment.  

This journey has been an emotional time for me and my family. The financial burden of treatment and care has exceeded my financial ability to meet the need of my medical bills and maintain stability for my family. I am asking for your financial support in ensuring I continue to receive the treatment and the continuous care needed.
