Hi, my name is Cate, and I’m fundraising for my son, Anderson.

Last Christmas, Anderson received a bike that was gifted to him by his dad and me — something he had been dreaming of for years. He proudly contributed his own savings to help pay for it, and that made the bike even more special to him. It became his pride and joy. He rode it to school every day, explored with his friends, and found confidence and independence through having something he worked hard for.

Today, between 11:40am and 12:00pm, an intruder cut through the school fence and stole Anderson’s bike. He had locked it securely, as he always did, but someone still managed to take it. When Anderson discovered the empty spot where his bike should have been, he was devastated. His dad picked him up early from school to try to comfort him, but the tears haven’t stopped. Seeing him so heartbroken has been incredibly difficult.

This afternoon, eight of his school friends came by our home with a beautiful card, offering their love and support. It was a beautiful moment — but nothing can replace the loss he feels right now.

We never expected to be in this situation, but if you’re able to help Anderson save for a new bike, our family would be truly grateful.
