This year, I lost my beloved sister to #BreastCancer. She was my mentor, my confidante, and my best friend. And while she left us 7 months ago, I will miss and mourn her for the rest of my life.

My inspiring sister was not only a cancer fighter, but also a compassionate trailblazing nurse. From her early days as a floor nurse to her role as #ChiefNursingOfficer, during 45-year career at SINAI HOSPITAL OF BALTIMORE, she dedicated herself to enhancing patient care by expanding growth and development opportunities for nurses. Then, during her arduous #breastcancer journey, she was shepherded by the most amazing, kind, diligent, empathetic, and knowledgeable #nurses.

In honor of my sister's exceptional legacy, we have established the Diane Johnson Nursing Advancement Scholarship through LifeBridge Health. This scholarship will provide financial support to future nurses from marginalized communities.
