Our dear friend Diana DiSalvatore passed away this Christmas. Di was an amazing dancer, a fabulous cook, the life of a party, she was hilarious, she loved harder and felt things deeper then most,
You were lucky if she was your friend, you remembered her if you met her only a few times and you hit the jackpot if she was your nurse. She was the nurse her fellow nurses would want if they were sick, she was the nurse that Doctor's hoped was at their side during a code, she was passionate, she had integrity and she would fight for her patients. She was brilliant.
I know many of you had asked about donation's etc and after talking with her friends, family and co-workers we landed on a scholarship for a Nursing student at St. Catherine's in St. Paul, Minnesota, where Di got her nursing degree. I think Di would love to help out someone pursuing their dream of becoming a nurse. I will reach out to the faculty and talk to them about who they think would benefit the most from some financial help. Hopefully we find someone as fierce and passionate as Diana, maybe someone who wants to travel and do Nurses Without Borders, someone who will know the Story of Diana DiSalvatore who was a real life Wonder Woman and saved lives at Cedar's Sinai.
We may raise enough to help more than one student and maybe enough to make this a yearly thing and set up as a non-profit.
