My niece Ellie is a little 8 year old girl from Wyoming that loves animals, spending time with friends and family outdoors, soccer, and living life to the fullest with her family (little brother Jameson, mom Tiffany, and dad JD). Unfortunately, Ellie’s parents noticed one of Ellie’s eyes was acting funny recently. It would sort of just trail off on its own. A few doctor appointments/opinions and an MRI later brought the family to Children’s Hospital in Denver (about 6 hrs away from home) where a biopsy confirmed Ellie has a rosette forming glioneuronal tumor on her brain stem. It is a rare tumor but is thankfully a low grade tumor. The prognosis is good and they can treat it! However; due to the position, it cannot be removed by surgery and this little warrior will now have to undergo radiation. They are scheduled for treatments for six weeks starting at the end of June and will need to rent a place to stay in Denver during treatment. The family will need all the prayers, comforting words, and financial help they can get to help them through these rough times. I will be selling “Ellie Strong” stickers for $5!!! I thought it would be cool if donors provided a picture of themselves/loved ones holding a makeshift sign with a short message like “so proud of you Ellie” (just an example, have fun with it!)
