Help donate towards Silverwood Trowbridge sensory room

Hi there!

Silverwood is a co-educational special school for children and young people aged 4 to 19 years. They formed in September of 2020 with campuses in Rowde, Trowbridge and Chippenham. Children and young people join them with a wide range of different needs and bring a wonderful mix of interests and personalities.

A member of staff is doing a sponsored run to raise money to improve the sensory room at the Trowbridge campus. We are aiming to purchase a new Bubble Tube

The current sensory room needs a significant upgrade and a new bubble tube will help considerably.

Interactive sensory rooms help to engage withdrawn individuals, and auditory sensory equipment can be especially helpful in encouraging vocalisation. Sensory environments can be highly absorbing, providing a moment of comfort and calm for overactive and distressed individuals. A sensory room should be calming, peaceful and offer appropriate stimuli for students to self regulate. A lot of the students really enjoy their time in the sensory room so it’s important to be able to make updates when we can but as we all know it can be costly.

Ibrar will be running on the 21st May from Chippenham Campus to Rowde Campus and then onto Trowbridge Campus to finish the sponsored run which is around 21 miles in total ‍♂️

We are sharing this in hope that the community and surrounding areas will donate a little something, any donations big or small will be greatly appreciated!
