Medical costs to get me to Mayo!

Dear friends and family,
I have found myself in the midst of a medical and finacial crisis and could use your help if you feel led and are able.
This episode of neurological difficulties started in March2014. I had just started a new job in Jan after losing my last job for medical reasons and was rushed to ER with what looked like a stroke.
A stroke was ruled out but I was having similar neurological symptoms to my first episode 4 years earlier. Loss of balance, numbness in right leg and pins and needles feeling, spasticity.
The past 5 months has been very difficult. Through MRI a problem with the vascular system surrounding my spine has been discovered.
I have been diagnosed with a very rare disorder called spinal dural arteriovenous fistulahttp://neuroangio.org/patient-information/patient-information-spinal-fistula/. After a neurosurgeon at St Thomas in Nashville finally realized this is out of his field of expertise I have
been referred to Dr Cameron McDougall at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix . http://www.thebarrow.org/Neurological_Services/Spine/204665.
At this point I am waiting from the call from Dr McDougall's office, most likely today, to give me the date of appointment and likely schedule. Neurologically at this point I have numbness and spascitiy in both legs, dificulty with balance, numbness of saddle region with bowel and bladder issues, constant intense back pain. I am now needing a walker and hoping I won't need a wheelchair before I recieve treatment/surgery.
While this is hard to do, I have been encouraged by several friends to set up this site to fund Rick and my trip to Phoenix, ongoing lodging expenses, probable short period of neurological rehab following treatment/surgery, return trips to Phoenix for follow up on a regular interval.
Thank you so much for reading and your care, concern and generosity,
Partheny
