David Hite Medical Relief Fund

A local family needs our community help!  Please help us raise funds to cover their medical expenses.    Longtime locals, David and Patricia Hite, would love your support!

David had a colorectal scan in March this year, which showed no problems.   By June his diet consisted mostly of liquids.

Finally in July he was sent to Denver for a cat scan.  An abscess the size of a baseball was found on his colon. They sent him immediately to University of Colorado hospital for emergency surgery where he stayed for 5 days. He also had tubes with drain put in and had to return 10 days later to replace tubes and drain.

In August, they finally found a surgeon and hospital that would operate with no insurance. Being self-employed, David found the "Affordable Care Act" not so affordable, over $970 a month. The tubes and drain were removed along with a foot of his colon.  This hospital stay was 6 days.  He lost 30lbs through all of this.

During all of this, his wife Pat had pacemaker put in.  A month later, doctors replaced pacemaker. A week later she went into AFIB and was in ICU for 3 days. While David was having colon surgery, Pat was put into the same hospital for dangerously low sodium. David was on the 7th floor while Pat was on 5th floor.

We have had the pleasure of working with David on our development projects at Brush Creek Village and Soleil Homes.   We appreciate our community rallying behind this amazing family during this difficult time - thank you!
