Medical Fundraiser for David O. Sablan

During the past few months my dad, David Jr. Obuogol Sablan, has been in and out of the hospital due to many different reasons. To start off, he is a survivor of 3 strokes and most recently a heart attack. In early November 2019, he was referred to Guam for a coronary angioplasty to put 5 stents in the main artery of his heart. The reason for his heart attack was due to blockage in that artery. After a couple of days in the ICU, here in Saipan, he was referred to Guam for the procedure. Upon his return from his medical referral in November 2019, he ended up back in the hospital on his 66th birthday and got admitted for about 2 weeks. This was due to an infection from an open sore that developed during his stay at GRMC in Guam. Although the infection on his wound was and still is not fully healed he was discharged from CHCC with a few prescribed medications from his doctor. Thankfully he is currently at home, and we try to make him as comfortable as possible despite the constant trips to the ER. He suffers from being immobile (bedridden) since being discharged due to a weak heart, lungs and liver. As if that's not enough, he also suffers from dementia. With his health condition seemingly getting worse, I try to assist my mother (who is elderly and unemployed) with his care and medical expenses. So after constant prompts from friends as well as relatives, I've mustered up the courage to post a medical fundraiser for my dad via gofundme to branch out in regards to financial assistance from anyone with a kind heart that would like to help. All funds raised will be mainly used for medical related expenses and treatment as well as medications that his insurance does not cover. Coming from a tiny island, we are not accustomed to ask for help because it may be viewed by some as a sign of shame and weakness. But if this gesture could possibly aid in my dads recovery, then here I am swallowing my pride, for him.
