Daron Flatt Memorial Fund

On Monday June 19th, at the age of 48, Daron Flatt passed away unexpectedly at his home in Sun Prairie Wisconsin.   The phrase “gentle soul” is often used to describe Daron as it embodies his compassion for others,  thoughtfulness and reflective nature. No where was this more expressed than in the beautiful music he could create.     Daron taught himself to “play by ear” on the piano at a very young age.   Throughout his life, he joined bands of differing types including blues, rock, country and southern gospel.     Often,  he could be found playing alone simply for his love of music.   Daron also found calling in life even greater than music upon the birth of his wonderful daughter Samantha Elizabeth, age 11.     To say Daron took to being a father would be an understatement.  He was devoted to providing a welcoming home and created a relationship that was the perfect combination of Father, Dad and friend.   While we can never fill the void left in Sammie’s life,   we can step in to honor Daron by establishing a memorial fund to benefit her in the future.    It can be said with completely certainty this is the lasting wish Daron would have wanted to leave for us, his many friends and relatives. The funds will be placed in a custodial account for Samantha’s benefit upon her maturity for education, investment or whatever needs she may have at that time.     Daron’s brother, Will, will serve as custodian until such time as it is turned over. Our family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and words of the many ways in which Daron touched lives.  Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.   We especially ask for God’s everlasting mercy on Daron and His comfort and protection on Samantha,  today, and for the years ahead.
