Danette Freng Family Support Fund
Donation protected
Danette Freng, a valued member of the 211 Enterprises and Irwindale Event Center family, passed away from cancer on Thursday, June 20th. She was 39. A breast cancer survivor (for 7 years), Danette was a single mother to three children, Joey, Vanessa and Alexis, and had no life insurance or savings, and her only health coverage came through Medi-Cal. Danette was the "center of the universe" to those who knew her, and her
loss was unexpected. Her cancer prognosis was originally optimistic. The Irwindale Event Center is raising funds to help cover medical expenses, as well as to help pay for the care of Danette's children, who are currently being cared for by family. All funds raised will go directly to the care of Danette and her family.
A statement from Jim Cohan, 211 Enterprises President / CEO:
"With a broken heart, I need to deliver some very, very sad news. The 211/LA Racing family lost our beloved friend and coworker, Danette, today. She had been in the hospital for the past few weeks and all of us were hopeful she'd be able to fight this, but it was too late. I am so proud to have known her and to call her a friend. I received a text from her on Father's Day and in that conversation she expressed to me how much she loved her job and the people she worked with. She loved you guys so much. My heart is with each of her three children, Joey, Vanessa, and little Lexi. My heart aches for them. The 211 family will always be their family. I am asking those who knew and cared for Danette (and even our extended family of racers and fans who didn't) to consider making a donation that will go to her family. We've set up a "˜Go Fund Me' account for this purpose. We will also be holding a memorial service at the IEC and will announce the date as soon as we know. We have always said we are a FAMILY here at 211, and we mean it. It's time to go to action. May God bless our friend and bring peace and comfort to the beautiful family she left behind."
