My name is Imani Deal.
Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of traveling around the world and experiencing new cultures. Now, as a B.F.A Dance major at Montclair State University in New Jersey, I have an amazing opportunity to make my dream a reality--but I need your help to do it.
This May, I have the opportunity to study abroad in the beautiful Seville, Spain. During my time there, I will have the chance to learn from various teachers in concentrations I’ve been trained in but also be introduced to one Spain’s most popular styles of dance, Flamenco. I will also be able to appreciate and draw inspiration from the beauty of the culture including the music, the architecture, the natural scenery, and the people.
As an aspiring professional artist, I want to experience the cultures of each country I travel to as well as immerse myself in the dance world. I know that this opportunity not only represents a first major step towards making my goal a reality but presents the chance to advance as an artist.
