Dana Douglass' Medical Expenses

Hello everyone,

As some may know, in 2013, Dana Douglass began having seizures that led medical staff to discover an Astrocytoma grade 4 tumor where she eventually had a craniotomy.

In 2019, more seizures led to her 2nd craniotomy due to an Astrocytoma grade 3 tumor.

In August of last year, after a routine MRI at UMMC, Dana was told by doctors that her cancer was spreading. She went to MD Anderson in October of 2022 where it was confirmed that her Astrocytoma tumor is inoperable.

Treatment plans include radiation therapy beginning February 18th, 2023, for 6 weeks. There will be 12 months of chemo to follow.

Dana will be unable to work during this treatment. Her insurance will assist in the costs of medical treatment. However, there will be many medical expenses that won’t be covered. I.e.: Insurance will not cover $387 for each treatment and there will be THIRTY radiation treatments ($11,670). There are also other extensive costs like travel back and forth to Houston for treatment, chemo pills and the overall cost of not being able to work.
