Help Freda Get Back on the Move ❤️
Hi, my name is Freda Waddell, and I’m asking for a little help to get my independence — and my life — back.
In May 2020, my life changed forever. I had a terrible fall and suffered a serious spinal cord injury. What followed was months of surgeries — first to repair a quad tear, then spinal surgery — and three long months of rehab learning how to navigate my new reality.
Since then, my wheelchair has been my lifeline. It’s how I visit family, get to physiotherapy, and enjoy the little moments that make life worth living. But now, my wheelchair is breaking down. The brakes no longer work. Both armrests are broken. Every outing feels unsafe, and I’ve even had to miss important physio sessions in Halifax because my chair simply isn’t reliable.
A new wheelchair would mean freedom, safety, and the ability to live life again. It would mean I could spend more time with my loved ones, keep up with my rehab, and get back to doing the things that bring me joy.
If you can donate — any amount, big or small — you’ll be helping me take back my independence. And if you can’t donate, sharing my story would mean the world to me.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness and support.
