CYNTHIA MARIE (SHELTON)LEIMBACH-JOHNSON
Cynthia Marie (Shelton) Leimbach-Johnson, 46 of Coloma, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Lakeland Community Hospital, Watervliet.
Cynthia was born March 13, 1972 in Saint Joseph, MI. Cynthia was the daughter of Denny and Nancy (Vaughn) Shelton. Cynthia was a graduate of Hartford High School. During High School, she was a Cheer Leader, a flautist in the marching band, and a member of the Navy Sea Cadet program. Cynthia joined the United States Navy after graduation, serving her country proudly aboard the U.S.S. Samuel Gompers, stationed in Oakland, CA. She loved animals, especially horses. She enjoyed attending church and going to the beach especially along the shores of Lake Michigan. Most importantly, she loved her family and she fought every day of her life for her kids – the most important people in her life.
Cynthia is survived by three children: Kyler Leimbach, age 25, Jaden Johnson, age 16 and Jalyn Johnson, age 14; her husband Brig “Harold” Johnson; her parents, Denny and Susie Shelton; three siblings, Rebecca (Tosh) Shelton-Struwin, Denny, Jr. (Greta) Shelton and Nicole (Steve) Shelton-Little; grandmother, Jewel (Teague) Vaughn and many other family members.
Cynthia is preceded in passing by her maternal grandfather, Louis Vaughn, Her paternal Grandparents Harrel and Ida (Thomas) Shelton of, her Maternal uncle, Terry Vaughn, her Paternal uncle Larry Shelton and Paternal Aunt, Jerry Houchin.
Cynthia will be cremated. The family will welcome friends from 10 to 11 A.M.; Friday, March 23 at the Hartford General Baptist Church, located at 323 E main St. Hartford, MI 49057, where the service to honor her memory will commence at 11 A.M. with Pastor Steve Bisbee officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements.
