Health Care Husband's Head Injury and family's maintenance

My name is Sofia Campos, I speak on behalf of my husband David Martins, who suffered a head injury on April 21st.

We are both converts, the only Muslims from both Christian families. Four months ago he left his family (me and two daughters, 2 and 11 years old) in Portugal to dedicate himself to studies at the Islamic University of Medina with the intention of being able, with Allah's permission, to contribute to our Portuguese-speaking society who knows little about Islam.

On April 21st, he had an accident, a car hit his bicycle, he suffered a head injury and was unconscious for the first few days, he had a fractured spine, bruises on his lower back, lungs and head, which resulted in the trauma and many injuries to the body. At that moment he is awake, but because of the trauma he is not lucid, he cannot think and speak coherently, he does not have much memory of life before the accident and his short-term memory is also weak.

He is in the hospital in the same city where he studied. I traveled to him to take the necessary care, the doctors said he could recover his memory and coherence, but that it could take weeks or months. As soon as the doctors release us, we will have to return to Portugal, as we do not have a residence in Medina, and there we will have to continue his health care.

David was the only one who made any income at home, Portugal is a country that does not allow a Muslim woman to work with a veil, so I cannot get a job to take care of the family's needs and now I will have to be responsible for my husband's care. and the two children.

I have faith that Allah will allow my husband to recover quickly, so I need to raise some money for at least the first months. I have no idea how much I will need for the household bills (as this matter was only my husband's knowledge) and for his health care, so I am asking for an initial amount, perhaps over time I will need more than that.

I thank everyone who has helped so far. My husband and I have already traveled back to Portugal, his situation worsened after the trip, we still don't know but we are starting treatments, he remains confused, with no memory of the past and most of the time speaking incoherently. He doesn't remember me or his daughters and it's been difficult for him to assimilate so many topics.

We will have a long way to go in his care, but Allah knows all things and we know that everything that happens to a Muslim is for his good. I keep my faith and hope in Allah.

Now I find myself in another situation, when I arrived I was faced with debts and I will share the following story with you: Before Islam, my husband was involved in buying a car in installments, in this situation, here in Europe this involves interest, even before After my conversion, this car was stolen (2021), but we were unable to do anything to cancel the installments or not pay them. We also pay the periodic tax for the plate and it is only possible to request cancellation after the installments have been paid.

As everyone knows, interest is prohibited in our religion and I would like to get rid of this debt so I don't have to be involved in paying interest, since I am now the one who will have to take on my husband's debts. I don't want to get into a situation that displeases God. The amount they ask me to pay off the debt and not pay interest is 9,603.77. This debt has put us in a very complicated situation and I don't know what will happen next if I am unable to assume these amounts.

That's why I increased the goal, if Allah blesses me maybe I can free myself from putting myself in a situation that displeases Him.
