At The Little School, Christmas is all about giving from the heart, that is why together, we have organized a fundraiser to help one of our own who truly needs a miracle! 

This story is about one of our Senior Kindergarten Teachers, her name is Lissa. Lissa is a loving and dedicated educator with a positive attitude, fun-loving personality and a heart of gold.  Lissa is also a strong, determined, 32 year-old single mother to the love of her life, her 9 year-old son. Last year, Lissa bravely battled kidney cancer that took her away from work and her son over the holidays. Most recently, Lissa was delivered some debilitating news that the cancer had returned and it has now metastasized to her spine. Just yesterday (December 16, 2019) she was given updated news on her diagnosis and treatments and was told that they found a tumor in her liver.  Chemo treatments are no longer an option and they are now recommending a $1,200 monthly pill. By the grace of Lissa’s medical team, they are doing their very best to manage her pain, that will allow her to spend this Christmas at home with her son. Lissa is determined to not miss this holiday season with him and create some lasting memories. 

As you go about your daily routine, we ask that you keep Lissa and her son in your thoughts. Through your generous support, you can help create a memorable Christmas for Lissa and her son and hopefully help with some of her treatment costs. Every penny counts and is greatly appreciated.
