Crushing Cancer with Cynthia
Cynthia Kelly is a 52 year old mother of three who received a cervical cancer diagnosis in August 2019. She had a hysterectomy to remove the cancer on October 1st, 2019.
Thankfully, the cancer was removed and additional biopsies indicated it had not spread. Cynthia was discharged and sent home on October 11, 2019. Unfortunately, several complications resulted from the surgery, and she required an emergency lifesaving ileostomy procedure on October 13, 2019.
On October 24, 2019, an additional CT guided aspiration procedure was needed in response to an abdominal abscess. Additional procedures continue as Cynthia slowly makes her way back to a condition that will allow her to go home, continue to get stronger, and, hopefully, return to her normal routine and work life. Cynthia will require ongoing home care and maintenance for approximately 6 months. The services of a PCA are being considered as she is still in the hospital as of October 30, 2019.
We hope to have a better sense of the expenses related to her multiple procedures, lengthy hospital stay, and any on going at home care she may need. Obviously, she has been missing work and may not be able to return to regular working hours for some time.
Any funds we are able to raise via this Go Fund Me campaign will be used to offset this tremendous financial burden most likely not entirely covered by her insurance.
Her regular expenses already need attention and any assistance provided here will be most helpful and greatly appreciated.
In addition to any financial support you may be able to offer, certainly kind words via Facebook or texting are very encouraging. At this time, what is most important is that she gets rest and back on her feet as soon as possible,so visitors are limited to family at this time. Once Cynthia is home, we may give another shout out for other kinds of support. However, at this time, our request is sadly financial as we anticipate substantial medical bills.
