#CRhinoStrong - Help Chad Kick Cancer’s Butt

Our friend Chad is a dad, son, brother, and grandpa. He is a proud military father, and his son Xander is currently stationed in Korea. Chad has dedicated his life to being selfless and serving others.

Due to a variety of health issues, Chad has only been able to work for 6 months since June 2023. This lack of income has taken a toll, depleting him mentally and financially. In July 2024, Chad had his third spinal fusion.

Unfortunately, this did not address the issue, resulting in another back surgery just three months later in October 2024. While recovering from the October surgery, he was involved in a major car accident (no-fault) in November 2024, setting his recovery back 3-4 months.

Just when it seemed he would be able to return to work, in May of 2025, Chad was uncharacteristically tired and had ulcers in his mouth that would not heal. A series of tests and visits with specialists revealed the unthinkable, a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer. On July 17th, he entered treatment at the Center for Advanced Care – Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. He checked in at 1 pm and was receiving his first dose of chemotherapy at 5 pm.

When Chad gave his son Xander the unimaginable news of his AML diagnosis, Xander said, “you’ll kick fu#kin’ cancer’s a#s!” What a son!

Chad’s favorite animal is the rhinoceros, and he is determined to face the latest, new challenge with strength and resolve. He adopted the mantra #CRhinoStrong and is carrying it daily.

How Your Donation Will Help
Your support will go directly toward:
* Medical bills, including current in-patient chemotherapy treatment for at least 4 weeks; medications; and follow-up visits over this 6-12 month treatment cycle
* Insurance gap, to cover deductibles, co-pays, and potential non-covered treatments
* Lost income, to cover basic living expenses (e.g., rent, utilities, groceries) as he will be unable to work
* Supportive care and other unexpected costs that may arise along this journey

Chad is looking forward to ringing the remission bell at the end of this chemotherapy treatment. We have no doubt that bell will ring!

Please support our friend and be #CRhinoStrong.
