Covid-19 Faceshield - Cayuga County

A few short weeks ago life seemed normal.  Now I’m hearing the term “this is the new normal”.  Well I certainly hope not.  As I socially distance myself from others, there are those who are in close contact with people that need their help. Medical professionals take care of patients each and every day. They take care of us. With the Covid19 virus they do so at great risk to their own health.

They did not create the pandemic. They did not create the crisis. They did not create the patients.  And they certainly did not create the equipment shortage situation. But they are helping others nonetheless. One thing is for sure, they can’t take care of us if they are sick. They deserve to be fully protected.

This is also very personal to me. I have a daughter who is a respiratory therapist. She and all her fellow healthcare providers bravely face the challenge of Covid19 every day on every shift. They are present when we need them, this is our moment to be here for them.  For her and all the medical professionals and emergency responders that put their safety on the line to take care of us, help us to help them.
