Corrin Nature Reserve Sunflower Day

Hello everyone,

I am fundraising for Corrin Nature Reserves Annual Sunflower Day, which takes place on Sunday 20 August. All donations gratefully appreciated.

(A little information on the Reserve)

The nature reserve is open to the public free of charge all year round. It is a fabulous local and educational outdoor amenity to have on our doorstep here in the Fermoy area.

The maintenance and day to day running costs of the reserve far outweigh the donations coming in so this fundraising day is vital to the upkeep of the reserve.

The reserve consists of a beautiful stroll through Coillte’s woods to access it and then there are 6 acres completely devoted to wildlife. Inside there is Butterfly and Bee Biodiversity Garden, 1000 metres of walkways, a duck pond, a frog pool, a water feature and fountain, 100 hardwood trees, A native Grey Partridge re-introduction programme, a composting unit, solar and wind powered programmes, gamecrops, wildflower meadows, some natural old bogland left as it has been for hundreds of years and much more along with the sunflower plot of course.

The committee have also pledged 50% of the proceeds from the Sunflower Day will go to 'Marymount Hospice' so you will be also helping another very worthy cause by donating. Donate here if you can’t make it on the day.

Complimentary teas and coffees served all day along with refreshments for children. Some light music and plenty of wildlife to enjoy.

The Butterfly season is in full swing now so see the many species here if the day will be fine. STRICTLY NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THE RESERVE.

Come join us, pick your sunflowers (bring your own scissors) and lets have a great day and lets donate,donate, donate and raise some well needed funds for our chosen charities.
