Corey was preceded in death by grandmother, Peggy South Small; grandfather, Bobby Jack Nixon, grandfather, R.D. Smith; and great grandparents, Albert E. Small and Marie Jeter Small.

Corey was a 2003 graduate of Red Level High School and grew up in the Red Level area. She was currently employed as a Covington County E911 Dispatcher a position that she loved and excelled at doing. Prior to that position, she was employed with the Andalusia Animal Shelter, another position that she served with all her heart. A true animal lover, two of her special doggies were Kimber and Paisley. Her family described her as a fabulous cook of anything she went to prepare and was also an extraordinary sandwich maker! She was a highly skilled “fisher-woman” and had just recently commented to Robert that with the weather warming up she was ready to go fishing. She caught a “record size” bass using only a cricket; but even with her lucky fishing she did not bait her own hook, but she was known to be the one to “extract” a hook from someone if needed! Of all her joys in life, spending time with her husband and children was her heart. She was a Frankie Foster music fan and loved to eat oysters. Corey brought many a great time to her family and friends, all which will be cherished as precious memories to those she leaves behind. The verse that the family stands on during this difficult time and one of Ashton’s favorites is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

The family greatly appreciates any contributions that may be made to “Go Fund Me” to assist with final expenses.
