Michael Dodd is an award-winning Police Officer in Conway and the ultimate family man. He is fighting the battle of his life as he remains hospitalized at MUSC. Mike worked a rainy weekend at the end of May and shorty after developed a cough, chest pain, and shortness of breath. A few days later, he was found on the floor by his children, unable to move. He was admitted into the ICU at Grand Strand Hospital where he underwent test after test. His fever kept rising and his oxygen level plummeted. Numerous efforts and medications, including antibiotics, either didn't work or caused allergic reactions.

When his condition was thought to have stabilized, he then developed numerous blood clots in his lungs prompting his transfer to MUSC Hospital in Florence. Most recently, he underwent a bronchoscopy which revealed that the microorganism infecting his lungs has started to spread by making a tunnel through the wall of his lung and into his chest cavity.

Mike hasn't worked in longer than a month and his loving wife has been by his bedside.

Please try to find it your heart to help in any way possible. My goal through this is so they don't have to be concerned where their next mortgage payment will come from, how they can get groceries, or to assist in the accumulating medical bills.

This man has devoted his life to keeping the community safe, but now he and his beautiful family need the community to look out for them.
