Conquering Jessica's Cancerous Brain Tumor

Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

I write to you today with a heavy heart and a respectful plea for your support. My sister, Jessica, has recently been diagnosed with a high-grade, malignant brain tumor, and she and our family are facing an overwhelming financial course as we fight for her life.

Jessica has always been a vibrant, compassionate, and strong-willed individual. She has devoted her adulthood towards teaching children with autism and helping those in need. But cancer has unexpectedly barged into her life, challenging her dreams of a long and happy future, and now she needs our support. Our family finds ourselves navigating the challenging path of treatment options, medical bills, and the mounting costs associated with battling this disease. The news has left us devastated, but we refuse to lose hope. Those of you who know Jessica know that she is a fighter, and when the odds are stacked against her, that makes her even more determined to prove them wrong. That’s the strong-minded spirit she has and needs now, and we are determined to fight alongside her to give her the best chance of a positive outcome.

Over the past few weeks, Jessica has shown immense strength and resilience. She has endured countless medical appointments, tests, and the start of her treatments, all while facing the emotional challenges that come with battling cancer. Her courage and determination are an inspiration to us all.

Unfortunately, despite having insurance which will cover the expenses for radiation therapy and chemotherapy, these more traditional approaches to cancer treatment have lower success rates for this specific type of inoperable brain tumor located in the brain stem. Jessica’s care team has recommended a significant series of treatments that are not covered by insurance with costs incurring up to ten thousand dollars per week. These services are already showing signs of success, but we find ourselves highly concerned by the incoming medical bills of these costly treatments, leaving us unable to fully focus on supporting Jessica's recovery.
