Dear friends and supporters,

My name is Marcel Shabani. I was born and raised in Bukavu, in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Having experienced the hardships of this region firsthand, I have also been blessed with help and support from others over the years. To give back, I have dedicated myself to helping children affected by conflict and poverty, enabling many to attend school some of whom are now able to help others in small ways, too. My small vision and dream now is to digitalize schools, offering hope and new opportunities to students by teaching them essential computer skills that I myself have learned through many challenges. I truly believe these skills can open doors for them, just as they have for me.

Due to the ongoing war in the eastern regions of the Democratic Republic of Congo, countless children have been affected by this unfortunate situation. Many parents are now unable to pay their children’s school fees, and, as a result, many children may not be able to return to school this September. We are launching this campaign to help them in as many ways as possible!

With your support, we aim to:

Pay school fees for at least 100 students

Your donations will directly cover the school fees of children who would otherwise be unable to attend school.

Digitalize at least two schools and set up a small IT center

We plan to equip two schools with basic computer labs and provide internet access, so they can benefit from a new school management system we are developing.

This system will allow students and teachers to communicate, enable teachers to mark assignments, and let parents/guardians monitor their child’s school progress.

Students will be able to submit their work digitally, initially via the school lab, and eventually from their own devices as resources improve.

Provide computer skills training

We want to teach students essential computer skills, giving them valuable opportunities for their futures.

If you have an unused computer, old phone, or other devices, we would be grateful to receive them and deliver them to the schools and students in need.
