On August 18, I had my first surgery with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for what appeared to be an abscess on the left side of my tongue. This procedure was outside of my insurance coverage so that it could be done as soon as possible. The biopsy taken during that surgery came back positive for squamous cell carcinoma on September 1, which required a couple of costly CT scans.
On September 23, I underwent my second surgery with an ENT oncologist to remove the malignant tumor and also extract lymph nodes from my neck for analysis. Thank God, the tumor was successfully removed, and the lymph nodes were found to be cancer-free. However, recovery has been very difficult.
I experienced two episodes of severe bleeding within a five-day period, which required two additional surgeries—one to stop the source of the hemorrhage (during which they also discovered an abscess forming in the neck incision and drained it), and another to re-drain the same site and repair the leakage from my mouth into my neck.
As a result, I have not been able to take in any food by mouth. I am currently being fed through a tube and remain hospitalized.
I am deeply grateful for everyone’s support. My insurance covers part of the costs, but not all, and some therapies and unexpected expenses are not included. If it’s within your means, please help us with any contribution or by sharing this campaign, it will make a big difference. Thank you from the heart.
God willing, I will overcome this challenge.
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
Hebrews 13:16
