Hello Community, my name is James McGurl, former employee and friend of The Garden Path and the Genovese Family. On Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, a reckless driver crashed through the front gate of The Garden Path on Nay Aug Avenue, destroying the fence and damaging other parts of the property. The driver has not yet been found.

This happened during the busiest time of year for this long-standing family business, and I’m asking for help during an extremely stressful moment for them.

The Genovese Family are some of the best, hardest-working people I know, and their business has been a cornerstone of our community for decades. Anyone who has visited The Garden Path knows how knowledgeable, helpful, and dedicated they are to providing quality products and services to the Scranton and Dunmore areas.

Insurance has installed a temporary fence, but the cost of replacing the gate and over 100 feet of permanent fencing will fall on the family. That’s why I’m graciously asking for any contributions to help them recover.

It’s the holiday season, and for decades The Garden Path has provided many of us with some of the area’s finest Christmas trees. I hope we can come together to show gratitude and support for the years of hard work they’ve given our community.
