Community Support for Teen & Crack Gallery

Donation protected
Crack Gallery has been a spot for friends working with friends, for 9 years this has been home for many artists in Vancouver as well as destination spot for other artists worldwide.

Many of you know the brain behind it all, Teen. Crack Gallery has been a place to access an art space at a low barrier especially for the youth in the community.

Teen has always been down to support his friends especially when it comes to art, he always finds a way to show, promote or contribute to shows, film screenings, and community events.

In July 2022 Teen had a bike accident coming home from a show where he broke his collarbone unknowingly, he's since then been awaiting a potential surgery date and due to long wait times he has developed a frozen shoulder in both shoulders which now will delay his surgery.

Since this accident Teen has seen several doctors and specialists due to experiencing other difficulties with his hands and wrists. This past summer Teen was diagnosed with carpal tunnel which is pressure on the nerves in your wrists making it difficult and painful to use your hands. A neurologist diagnosed him with a more severe carpal tunnel and more recently this year the rheumatologist diagnosed him with rheumatoid arthritis which is an autoimmune disease where the body attacks healthy cells causing inflammation and pain.

Since the Fall, it has progressed to the point where he had to put Crack Galley and his job on hold, due to the inability to work from chronic pain. Since 90% of his work was done online he has struggled to do this due to the strain it puts on his hands, wrists. This has put Teen in a precarious spot, while he is trying to find other resources to help him we proposed this GoFundMe to help with his living expenses and expenses for childcare. The last year has been really tough, adjusting to a new lifestyle with limited mobility and even small tasks day to day have been a challenge.

Contributions from this fund will go directly to Teen and, the idea was to have enough for at least 6-9 months and this will cover:

Rent
Child Expenses
Grocery
Bills
Medical expenses

The hope is that this fund will alleviate some financial strain so Teen can focus on his recovery since this will be a long journey.
