Comfortforchemo Kerry - Dingle Pen. Challenge 2021

Hi everyone! Together we plan to circumvent the Dingle Peninsula in approximately 24hrs hrs by walking, kayaking, running, cycling, climbing, swimming and mountain biking on 4th September, 2021 in order to raise funds for the Comfort for Chemo Kerry charity foundation. 

Cancer has impacted many of us. The majority of families and friends, including ours, have been affected by cancer, and it is paramount that those in need get the best and most professional care possible. With the help of Comfort for Chemo Kerry, we now have an opportunity to build a state of the art facility for the people of Kerry who need chemotherapy or oncological treatment (family, friends, community).

Due to the Pandemic, a lot of charities have found it difficult to raise funds, and lots of events have been cancelled. We would like to do the best we can to raise funds for the new Unit, and hope that you can support us in any way you can.

The 24hr challenge on Saturday 4th September is as follows:

Start - 10pm

Walk/jog the Dingle Way from Tonevane (Tralee) to Inch Beach/Aunascaul Rivermouth- 30km
Kayak paddle from Inch/Aunascaul Rivermouth to Dingle Harbour/Skellig Hotel - 15km
Run from Dingle to Ventry Beach - 10km
Cycle from Ventry Beach to An Baile Breac (Pilgrimmage car park) - 40km
Climb Mt. Brandon (963mt) and descend to Lough Cruite - 5km
Swim Lough Cruite - 1km and hike to Cloghane Village - 5km
Mt. Bike from Cloghane to Conor Pass (12km climb to 410mt), then off road to Dingle Town - 8km

Finish - 10pm (24hrs)

Total distance - 126km/78mls
