Coach Marty's Road to Recovery
Spende geschützt
Thankful to be alive........Marty had not been feeling well for a few months and went to the doctor. He thought that everyone at his age that coached baseball, ran a business and had a family, had stress and that was just how life was going to be. However, he wasn't feeling better and after numerous tests, his cardiologist ordered a heart cath. The results were severe and Marty needed a triple bypass immediately. He had blockages at 85, 90 & 95%. His bypass surgery was April 4th. He came home five days later. It's been a whirlwind for the past month and lots of changes. He is improving everyday and has now started rehabilitation to get stronger and he is learning how to diet and exercise post surgery. His life has forever changed. Rehab will be for the next twelve weeks. Marty is not able to drive yet, nor work or coach baseball. Hopefully soon though, he can start doing the things he loves. He misses being around kids. The road to recovery is long (about six months total) and the medical expenses are expensive, even with insurance. The co pays and travel to and from rehab will also add up. As with most families, this is not something we saw coming. Many of our friends and family and co workers have asked if or how they can help. At first, I really wasn't sure what would be needed, we were all just glad he made it through surgery. Now the medical bills are starting to come in and that is overwhelming. Therefore, the GoFundMe option was suggested to us as a way for people to help. I have to say, I am so amazed at the generosity of people already to drop whatever they were doing when this happened to help us, I can only imagine what can be done through this resource. So if you are able, we would greatly appreciate any contribution you could make to assist in getting Coach Marty's medical expenses paid. We appreciate all the support we have been given....we have the best community, family and friends.
