BLM x Ciel Community

Donation protected
As Creative Industry leaders, we feel deeply called to demand respect, peace, and justice for our Black community. In alliance with our partners, Little Giant Lighting & Grip and Ranahan Production Services, we united efforts by matching each other's donations to create momentum around action and progress. Now we are calling our creative industry friends to join us in matching donations for BLM.

This call to action is only a start to help provide resources to the external community. The work following will come internally, to ensure that all creative spaces are safe, nourishing and supportive to our black and brown community members. Let’s unite as leaders to impact lasting change.

How it works:
Donate to this fund
Forward this email to 3 people, inviting them to match your donation
Invite those people to tag 3 others to match their amount to keep the momentum going

After you've donated..
Post 3 or more resources for Black-owned:
local businesses
photographers
filmmakers
bookstores
restaurants
petitions to support
and more!

Post in the GoFundMe comments, or share with us directly.

We hope in this way, we can begin to properly share financial access and accountability, uplift the beauty within our communities, and spread love and respect.

Our goal is $30,000, providing $10,000 to each organization. We will follow up with updates, receipts, and additional resources to continue this work.

The organizations we have chosen are:

The Peoples Conservatory  - The People's Conservatory creates opportunities in the arts to create, study, and perform to promote cultural awareness and positive social change. Focused on young people from elementary to high school, TPC offers courses online and in public schools in all areas of the arts. "TPC trains young artist explorers, with a dedicated focus on brown and black youth from marginalized and economically blighted communities, to envision and create a humane and just world through their art."

East Oakland Collective  - The East Oakland Collective (EOC) is a member-based community organizing group invested in serving the communities of deep East Oakland by working towards racial and economic equity. With programming in civic engagement and leadership, economic empowerment and homeless services and solutions, we help amplify underserved communities from the ground up. We are committed to driving impact in the landscape, politics and economic climate of deep East Oakland.

Know Your Rights Camp Legal Rights Initiative  - Legal Rights Initiative - Started in the Bay Area by Colin Kaepernick, this initiative has identified and teamed up with top defense lawyers and civil rights lawyers nationwide to provide legal resources for those in need. "Our mission is to advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education & self-empowerment."
