Chuck’s Health Journey

Hi, my name is Cheryl and my sister is Leveda.  We would like to start are launching this fundraiser for our brother, Chuck who is awaiting a Heart transplant.

 

Chuck is a very private person so this is a big deal for him. A month ago he entered the hospital because he was sick and they ended up putting a heart pump in to help his heart. The heart pump worked for a little bit and it was increasing blood flow, then it stopped working well. The options quickly turned very serious and they needed to do surgery for a different kind of pump, one they’ve never done before. They called a “MacGyver” kind of process, Chuck is the first recipient. The doctors working on him are some of the best in the nation so we are blessed that way.

 

Chuck has a long term love named Amy, two children Annie & Chuckie. The family needs our help, as the income was drastically reduced and we need to keep his mortgage paid while he undergoes this arduous treatment. His healing process will be long term and he will possibly be out of work for a minimum of a year or possibly longer, as you may or may not know it’s a lengthy process for benefits to kick in.
