Christina's Cancer Crisis

I have a dear and special friend Christina DiCocco who is a member of my 3 Circle Church small group family and currently battling cancer. In August 2017, Christina was informed that she not only had one type of cancer, but 2 entirely separate cancers! She was diagnosed with a high grade, aggressive, Breast Cancer and Stage 4 Liver Cancer. Christina’s life has changed dramatically since the day she heard this devastating news. Since being diagnosed in August, Christina has endured numerous types of scans, biopsies, and hospitalizations. She has had two surgeries, one to remove the cancer in her intestines and liver, and the second a mastectomy. She is scheduled to have an additional mastectomy surgery in March. She has already began receiving chemotherapy, which she will need to receive for at least another full year.

As you can only imagine, Christina’s medical bills are rapidly mounting! Since starting treatment in August, her share of the medical bills have already amounted to over $6,000 and will continue to multiply over the course of her treatment. Christina has a long journey ahead of her with her additional surgery approaching, and the continued need for additional scans, MRI’s, hospitalizations, and chemotherapy. Living on a fixed income with no additional income, has caused Christina financial hardship. This has resulted in her inability to afford to pay the hospital and medical bills, as well as any future bills. These exorbitant medical bills have created additional stress and anxiety for Christina.

Christina is a devoted and faithful Christian woman, who has committed her life to sharing God’s love and serving others in many types of capacities. She has given numerous hours of care and love by serving others through volunteering in several ministries in her community.

Christina has never given up hope to recover from life’s obstacles, hurdles, tribulations and disappointments. She has had many challenges in her life but always knew God was walking with her on each journey. Christina’s determination, courage, and faith continues as she knows the Lord and His power to heal, bring peace, and joy in her life, no matter what she has to endure.

Christina has always maintained a strong faith, and knows in her heart there are wonderful caring folks in and around her community that would be happy to help her in this time of need. With Christina’s incredible will and determination, she believes she will be cured completely of both cancers.
