Chilli’s Mountain Rescue Fund
Donation protected
We are raising money to support the incredible team at Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue who helped rescue Chilli after he fell from a mountain in the Lake District on 7 August. Half the money raised will also help pay for Chilli’s medical care.
Chilli fell 20 metres off a cliff face and tumbled another 100 metres over rocks sustaining head trauma, broken bones, severe bruising and multiple cuts and grazes. It took 2 days to find him with the help of a local climber - badly injured and hidden in deep bracken. He was immobile, severely dehydrated, weak and confused and suffering the effects of fly strike - but alive!
It took 5 hours to get chilli off the really steep mountain slope with a heroic rescue operation involving 10 members of Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue, ropes and a stretcher. Thanks to the amazing efforts of the vet team in Windermere, Chilli made it through the night and is recovering at home in Brighton.
We appreciate any support you can give - every £1 helps. We will give 50% of every donation to Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue who are out every day saving lives. Thank you so much for supporting Chilli’s recovery and the Mountain Rescue heroes!
