Childcare for Inpatient PTSD
Donation protected
Troy is a disabled army veteran who did multiple airborne missions to Iraq and Afghanistan which lead to him developing PTSD. Like many mental illnesses, PTSD is unnoticeable at times and unmanageable at others. Troy has been a stay at home father for years and has dealt with many challenges adjusting to civilian life. After his most recent episode, Troy was admitted for treatment and has entered an inpatient program to help him overcome this.
While Troy is on an uphill battle, his wife and three children are adjusting to a new normal. Kathleen became a single mom overnight, their 4.5 year old son broke his elbow the same day, and their twin 19 month old son and daughter have been the most energetic surprise blessings since they were born who have dealt with their own ongoing health issues. All this is incredibly stressful and exhausting. With Kathleen returning to work, they are looking to hire a part time nanny, which is an unexpected and overwhelming cost. Please consider passing up on a coffee or lunch out this week to help support this amazing family.
