Our dear husband and father, Tom Canterberry, has been stricken with Stage IV metastatic adenocarcinoma. He was diagnosed March of 2015. The doctor states that this illness is terminal, but we are not giving up. We are trying very hard to keep him here through a complete regimen of a cancer-fighting diet, nutritional supplements to strengthen his immune system, and supervised exercise.
Tom is a beautiful soul who forgives easily, doesn't waste time being upset, never holds a grudge, and wants to see only the best in everyone. Tom is only 62, and we want to keep his amazing heart and great attitude with us. However, we need your help.
Tom's cancer is very aggressive, and he needs supervised care. We are raising money so that I can stay home, take care of him, and keep him safe. His vertebrae --- which are riddled with tumors --- are very vulnerable to falls, and he must be looked after. I have faithfully served the same school district for fifteen years, teaching elementary school. Unfortunately, at this point, it would be demoralizing and unsafe to leave Tom home alone for extended periods of time. Therefore, we are asking for help so that we can continue to remain solvent.
Please help us raise money for Tom! We truly believe that he can beat this cancer, but time is of the essence. My original plan was to teach school for one more month and then go on leave. I also need to go on half-days two days per week for the last month that I'm in school.I can do this, but not without experiencing financial difficulties that will create stress. Tom needs his family with him in order to fight the good fight! Please help bring our family together when Tom desperately needs us. Tom's son is only 11 years old. He loves his father, and they have a beautiful relationship. Tom also has a wonderful marriage of 14 years! Please help Tom to help himself by creating a situation where his family can be with him, helping him heal, and nursing him back to health.
