We are Pitchside Productions, a fourth-year practicum group from Toronto Metropolitan University. We are seeking to host and broadcast the Speak Up! Shield, a charity soccer match in support of athletes' mental health. This match will feature the TMU Bold and York Lions' men’s teams and is set to take place on Friday, November 22nd, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre in Vaughan.

Our goal is to raise awareness and break the stigma around mental illness while fundraising to help bring this event to life. Once our production costs have been covered, we will be donating all extra proceeds to an organization that supports our cause. We've witnessed firsthand how a lack of resources can impact an athlete's well-being, and we hope to make a significant change in the community with this project. Your contribution will help us host this event as well as provide support to a meaningful cause.

What We Need & What You Get

To make this event possible, our goal is to fundraise $5,000. The funds will cover venue rental, broadcasting and production costs, medics, referees, and other expenses. Once all of our expenses have been covered, extra funds will be donated directly to charities supporting athletes’ mental health. In exchange for your support, we will be hosting giveaways, and other acts to express our gratitude.
