We are Deanna and Tracy, a passionate filmmaking team dedicated to telling bold, beautiful stories that matter. Be My Champion is one of those stories. This deeply personal project is rooted in our lived experiences and years of observing the complex, raw, and often unspoken dynamics between mothers and daughters.

As a queer writer, actor, and creative producer, Deanna brings a distinct voice to the script , one shaped by identity, honesty, and a desire to see more layered women on screen. Tracy, an experienced producer with a strong background in screen storytelling, brings heart, grit, and a sharp creative lens to every project she touches. Together, we are driven by a shared purpose: to craft work that resonates, connects, and represents.

Our vision for Be My Champion is to create a powerful short film that captures the emotional depth of this story, a mother and daughter forced to relive their past from their own fractured memories, ultimately confronting the question: is the truth really as they remember, or is it just a story they’ve been telling themselves?

It explores universal themes of family, reconciliation, personal growth, and the search for acceptance, all told through a heartfelt lens with moments of levity and lightness.
