Chaii's grief counselling fund

Someone can’t prepare fully for the loss of a loved one. But sometimes, actions of those we love can encourage us to prepare for the worst.
Five years ago Jeff moved to Victoria where he had a horrible accident. His move to Victoria provided a chance for us to become closer, but it was also a difficult transition to watch his additions grow as the impacts of the accident continued.
Over the years, I began to prepare for the worst. I was lucky enough to find a counselor who specialized in grief counselling years ago. For seven years, he has been helping me to build myself stronger and to learn skills to deal with what I feared was inevitable.
On March 28th, 2018, we lost Jeff. The skills I have been able to develop with my counselor’s help have gotten me to this point, and prepared me for what I feared would happen. But, unfortunately, grief and loss is a long process.
I set this fund up to ask those willing and able to help me process. At 20, I am beginning to move towards independence, but finances are a major barrier. My hope is that I will be able to access additional counselling with the help of those able to donate even $5 or $10.
Thank you for your support and understanding during this period of loss, but also of celebrating someone who we all cared about deeply.
