In Loving Memory of My Mother, Gladys Ann Bush

It is with the heaviest heart that I share the sudden passing of my beloved mother, Gladys Ann Bush. She went home to be with the Lord due to congestive heart failure, and our family is truly devastated.

My mother was the most loving, selfless, and caring woman I have ever known. She was married to my father, the love of her life, for 60 wonderful years. Their marriage was a true example of devotion and faith. Recently, both my mom and dad had been diagnosed with dementia, and while we were preparing ourselves to walk through that difficult journey together as a family, we never imagined that my mom’s life would be taken from us so suddenly.

She was an active member of her church, where her faith was her foundation, and her church family and pastor meant so much to her. She loved being in fellowship, uplifting others, and bringing light and laughter everywhere she went. She had a gift for making people smile and a heart that cared for everyone she encountered. She was also well known throughout the Chicagoland area for her beautiful hat collection and the way she and my father would coordinate their outfits & always turning heads with their style and grace.

She leaves behind myself, my brother, her 5 grandchildren, and her 7 great-grandchildren who adored her dearly. She also came from a large, loving family with 13 siblings, many aunts and uncles, cousins, and countless friends who all cherished her. To know her was truly to love her, and her passing has left a tremendous void in our family, our church, and our community.

I have started this GoFundMe to help provide my mother with the beautiful homegoing service she deserves and to cover the bills and responsibilities she has left behind. This loss was sudden and heartbreaking, but I want to honor her memory in the way she lived her life with love, dignity, faith, and grace.
