We have an update. Our Grams celebration of life is going to be on January 31,2026, at Paia Community Center. Please come by and join us to celebrate this wonderful woman. My name Shanaye and I am doing this to help with the financial side of our recent loss. We did not see this happening anytime soon and we definitely were not ready.

As most of you know, my grandma Bernice Pat Duarte passed away peacefully at home October 16,2025, surrounded by her family. She was a hard-working woman even after she had retired. She worked as the controller for the Westin Maui for many years; while not only working she took on the mighty roll of the Upcountry Pop-Warner Association President, and Grams also took care of all of us. Grandma took pride in the football association and along with her grandkids. She made a big impact with everyone. After a while she would treat you like family, to the point of even scolding you like you were one of her own. My grandma was a strong-willed working lady. We would love to give her the sendoff she deserves. All donations will go towards her Celebration of Life.

If you knew her you would understand why we would love to do this for her. She deserves it. Thank you for any kind words, prayers and honestly anything will help.
