On 2-23-22, Carol Galentine (Butterflii) was hit and killed by a drunk driver on her way home from work. She was only a block away from being in her girlfriend’s arms when the driver ran a red light and took her life. She was engaged to Andrea Olsen, and there was no person she loved or talked about more.
Alex (my boyfriend/Andrea’s brother) and I spent the morning working with her the day she passed away. After spending 7 hours laughing and talking to someone, the last thing you expect is a phone call telling you that person is gone. My heart breaks. It breaks for Carol. It breaks for Andrea. It breaks their friends and family.
Carol was a wonderful human with a huge heart. From the moment we met, Carol never treated me as anything less than family. That’s just who Carol was. If you talked to her for any amount of time, you might not know the fine details of her life, but you knew exactly the kind of person she was. She never watered down her personality for anyone. Carol was the same hyperactive, joyful, excitable person with everyone she met. She never hesitated to share herself, her joy, and her incredible talent with everyone around her, never once asking for anything in return. She was always bringing people together. Always helping someone. Always single-handedly creating an environment where everyone felt heard, known and loved.
She was one of a kind, and the universe has done the world a great disservice in taking her.
Due to the high amount of inquiries we have received, Alex and I created this gofundme to help Carol’s family and girlfriend during this heartbreaking and impossibly difficult time. All the money donated will go directly to Carol's fiancee and mother.
