Caring For Cara
Donation protected
Cara, a normally healthy, hard-working 27 year-old who likes hanging out with her cat, was diagnosed with Pneumonia in early October of 2017. The day after her diagnosis she complained of extreme chest pain and was admitted to the ER at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. Thanks to a chest X-ray, they discovered that she had a large cancerous tumor on her right lung, which was growing into her bronchus/lung tube and blocking her airway. The cancer then spread to two places on her sacrum and to a lymph node near her collar bone. She was transferred via life-flight to Providence St. Vincent's Hospital in Portland, and then again transferred to OHSU where she was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Lung. At OHSU, she will undergo both radiation and chemotherapy.
Any money donated will be used to fund any and all medical bills and day-to-day expenses while she is being treated with chemotherapy over the next few months. Cara and her family greatly appreciate any donations, even if it's just $5, as well as any positive thoughts and prayers you can send her way. She has a long road ahead of her, but she has a great support system that will be there the entire step of the way.
