This is the official fundraiser for CARIE BAKER-Corey, Summer Corey, Sawyer Corey, and Morgan Corey. The Baker/Baker-Corey family has sanctioned it. The family was devastated when the catastrophic mudslides in Montecito swept them away while sleeping in their home around 3am on that dreadful Tuesday morning. They lost much more than their home – that’s why this page was created.
Sawyer Corey (Summer's twin, 12) and Morgan Corey (25) did not survive the disaster.
Sawyer and Morgan are truly angels who helped their mom and sister survive and will give them strength to carry on.
Carie is a single mom who raised her twin girls and step-daughter Morgan (from the age of 7). She is hard-working mother dedicated to providing her girls the best education, loving home environment, and caring community.
Carie is still undergoing treatment along with her 12-year-old daughter, Summer, after both suffered life-threatening injuries. They are miraculously alive, however with many months – years actually – of physical and emotional recovery ahead, as well as several reconstructive surgeries for Carie.
The outpouring of support for the beautiful family is appreciated beyond belief. Your generosity will help Carie and Summer. It will lessen the burden when they are well enough and on their own, rebuilding their life.
Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital revived and treated Summer and Carie in their 31 day hospital stay. They would not be here without the superior level of medical care they received, along with the rescue efforts of all the first responders and fellow neighbors who lent a hand when they were in danger themselves.
Montecito has always been home to the Baker family and we will continue to be MONTECITO STRONG!
