On Monday, July 18, My received the news she has cancer. My is very early in her journey and is awaiting further test results to receive a comprehensive diagnosis as well as stage classification.
Here is what we know so far:
- July 18, A biopsy came back that confirmed cancer and more tests were ordered.
- July 20, The MRI results came back and the doctors found a lump in My’s lymph nodes. A biopsy will be done soon to examine this lump; we are praying this one is non-cancerous!
- July 22, My got a PET scan done head-to-toe to see if the cancer is isolated or if there may be more areas to be treated. We are awaiting the results and they should come back next week!
- In a few weeks, My will begin chemotherapy for 4-4.5 months and then surgery will follow.
- After surgery, My will again go through chemotherapy for one year.
Funds raised will pay for medical expenses, chemotherapy, housing, and additional transportation costs that My and her mom will need to cover during these difficult times.
This is a tough journey for a 22-year-old woman to go through, but like many of you know, My is extraordinary and a community is here to support her through this time! If you are able to donate or share this fundraiser that would be great help to reduce the financial burden that will follow.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this on social media, sending cancer resources that you know of, offering to cook a meal, or sending My a love note!
Positivity, good vibes, and prayers mean the world to My!!
MESSAGE FROM MY:
When I first got the news, I was overwhelmed and didn’t know what to expect. I am speechless with the words of encouragement I have received so far. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to let me know I am not alone! I am so grateful for all of you! I love you all so very much.
