In Loving Memory of Anna Spencer Jones

Hi everyone,

Thank you for visiting our campaign to mark our respects to Anna Spencer-Jones. This webpage has been set up by her husband Gary and children Adam, Scott & Maddy for anyone who would like to support Medias-Klinikum Clinic, Germany. This Clinic was such a pivotal part in prolonging Anna’s life in 2018.

After being a breast cancer survivor for 6 years, in 2015 Anna had learnt that her cancer had spread to lungs and neck lymph nodes. She then received 3 conventional treatments in UK and Ireland which did prove to be effective. However her cancer returned one year after that treatment had been completed.

Anna was recommended to investigate the Medias-Klinikum clinic in Germany which specialised in regional chemotherapy as a possible option for treatment of her cancer. Her first operation at this clinic reduced her cancer by 30% and she hoped that the second operation which was undertaken on 1 July would have a similar outcome. She has been advised that she will need 3 or 4 similar operations in total.

Unfortunately, Anna had a mini stroke, followed by numerous seizures. Anna was put in an induced coma as she could not breathe for herself. The CT scan showed that Anna’s cancer had now travelled to her brain. The scan showed many cancer tumours and also bleeding in her brain. We said our goodbyes to Anna on the 28th December 2018 and we would like to thank everyone for their continuous support throughout the past few months, let us now remember Anna as the most loving, kind hearted, joyful, positive person you could ever wish to meet. The best Wife, Mum, Sister we could have wished for, and a million times more.

Life will never be the same without her but we know now she is resting peacefully in no pain.

We love you so much Anna.

Sleep tight our beautiful angel

Message from Gary: “My darling wife Anna Spencer -Jones who has always put others first, even when Anna was diagnosed with Breast Cancer Hormone positive Stage 3 in 2009. She was still helping others with Cancer.
During 2009 to 2018, Anna has gone through major surgery which has involved dozens of operations, of which most were major. From a mastectomy, breast reconstruction, intense chemotherapy through a port inserted under the skin, radiation treatment and more drugs, tablets and injections over the first 4 years which took its own toll on Anna’s body, loss of All bodily hair. Swelling and continues vomiting. But we thought there was light at the end of the tunnel, when Anna was told that she was in remission.

As a devoted husband and with two step sons and a wonderful daughter our life was starting to get back on track. Unfortunately, at the end of 2015 Anna starting to inherit a bad cough. At the start of 2016, the cough worsened and and after a further CT scan it was clear that Anna’s Cancer had come back with catastrophic results. Her left lung was peppered with cancer and some of the nodes in her neck were also cancerous. From mid 2016 to January 2018 the Oncology department had tried every known drug and treatment to slow this terminal cancer down. But with no luck.
During a conversation with a German oncologist and a friend who is a research scientist in Switzerland, there was one last possibility for Anna. A private clinic in Burghausen, Bavaria, Krankenhausstrabe that carry’s out certain organ procedures, by localising the effected areas. The clinic is called Media’s Klinikum and is the leading private clinic with Prof Aigner’s to perform regional chemotherapy. www.medias-klinikum.de.
