Cancer sucks..Any help for Joe after brain surgery
Don protégé
As most of you know, my brother Joseph Sautner has been battling melanoma - which metastasized to his brain, lungs, subcutaneous tissues and various other parts of his body. In the last 2 weeks he was admitted to Inova hospital after going to the ER because of headaches due to a brain tumor growing rapidly in size. His oncology team took him off all his medications and was referring him to hospice care. Dr. Watson, a Neurosurgeon from Georgetown Hospital intervened and performed brain surgery on August 11, 2022. The surgery was risky but the outcome was successful, as Dr. Watson was able to remove the entire tumor. Without this operation Joe would not have survived much longer. Joe now needs to recover as he has lost the use of his left leg and left arm. He also has a PICC line to receive IV antibiotics because his surgical incision is not healing as expected. Although medical insurance pays for the majority of this, there is still a deductible and out of pocket costs totaling $4000.00. Joe cannot work until he has completely recovered which will be weeks to months and his wife Sarah has taken a lot of unpaid time off of work to help care for him and stay by his side. Anything would help, no matter how small - even $5.00 to try and ease the financial responsibilities while Joe recovers. Joe, his wife Sarah and our entire family would be grateful if everyone could step up and help in any way possible. If you cannot help financially we would appreciate if you could leave Dr. Watson Neurosurgeon at Medstar Health Georgetown University Hospital a 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ review on his website to show our gratitude towards his efforts in saving Joe's life. Thank you so much for everyone who has been praying for a miracle!
