Cancer sucks! Donate to help our friend, Jennifer (JFlo)

This is a fundraiser for our friend and colleague, Jennifer, and her family. Jennifer has been fighting advanced colon cancer for almost 2 years. While she is going to continue to fight, her treatment options are becoming more limited, and she has been given a terminal diagnosis. We are raising funds for her to get supplemental treatments and services that can help improve her quality of life, as well as funds for her young family. While Iris itself has already provided assistance, we wanted to see what our loving and wonderful community of friends and family could do to help her!

Who is Jennifer? Well, we at Iris lovingly call her JFlo. She has been a dedicated Iris Memory Care team member for over 3 years for our community in Rowlett, TX. As a mother of kiddos on the autism spectrum, Jennifer brought her understanding of people who are not neurotypical to the residents, serving in activities. She started as an activities assistant and then took over the management position. She eventually transitioned to the admin assistant role, and she is so incredibly thorough and organized! She keeps the Rowlett community clicking along! And she does it with a smile and care for the residents, always.

Jennifer is a mother to 4 - 2 girls and 2 boys. Her husband is a retired Senior Chief after 21 years of service to the Navy. Her oldest daughter will graduate high school in May 2026, her middle daughter is in middle school, and her youngest kiddos are still in elementary school. As you can imagine, terminal cancer is devastating for her family.

Jennifer continues to work for us at Iris part-time. She likes having something to do and a way to contribute. We will protect her ability to do so for as long as she desires to do so. If you don't see her as much in the community, it might be that she is working from home or from her treatment center. She is a force of nature, and we appreciate all she does for us and has done! We want to show her and her family how much.

We will give all funds in total to Jennifer and her family to use as they see fit. In an effort to protect their privacy, we will not be detailing her treatment needs here.
