Camp MSM for WHEELS Music Students

Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School (WHEELS) is a New York City public school dedicated to serving students from the Washington Heights neighborhood in Manhattan. Six of our middle and high school music students were accepted to Camp MSM, a competitive international summer music program at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music (MSM). Tuition for each student is $2,700, which is more than our school and our students can afford. We hope to raise enough to pay tuition for all six students by May 2, 2016.

These six WHEELS music students are in grades 7, 8, 9 and 11, and play a variety of instruments. They have put in years of hard work in our school ensembles and competitive programs around New York City. They are on a path to succeed in college, and Camp MSM is the kind of life-changing experience these students need to propel them forward. They will study on a college campus (Manhattan School of Music) with top teachers and students from all over the world.

The students' music teacher, Mr. Graham Johnson, will collect donations from this campaign and pay MSM directly on the students' behalf. Remaining funds will go to the WHEELS Music Program. For more information about WHEELS Music, please visit wheelsmusicnyc.blogspot.com .
